Advanced Materials technologies to QUADRUPLE Concentrated Solar Thermal current POWER GENERATION

IN-POWER aims to develop and integrate new solutions of innovative materials in concentrated thermosolar technology to increase efficiency while decreasing the cost of energy production. Fertiberia participates as a partner in the consortium in the development of thermal energy storage materials, increasing up to three times the thermal capacity with respect to standard materials, consequently reducing the thermal storage size.

Project Partners:  ACONDICIONAMIENTO TARRASENSE LEITAT, OHL Industrial, Nematia, Tekniker (Spain), Kolzer, Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development ENEA (Italy), Schofer (Austria) , CEA-LITEN (France), Votteler (Germany).

Objective

 The specific objectives of the IN-POWER Project are as follows:

  • Development of intelligent polymer mirrors with high optical and mechanical performance.
  • New and innovative solar field design architecture that will improve the design of existing solar plants by reducing their size up to four times for the same capacity..
  • New lightweight composite materials to optimise the structure of the solar mirror.
  • New selective absorbers and vacuum-free receivers designed for high temperature operation.
  • New thermal energy storage materials to increase the thermal capacity up to three times compared to standard materials.
